What is an Open-Water Diving Course?
Basically, this course will require divers to learn, practice, and understand all the diving techniques. Besides that, divers will also learn the skills to handle all the necessary equipment which will be demonstrated by our certified diving instructor.
This lesson usually takes up to around 3 days 2 nights / 4 days 3 nights per session, depending on the divers’ ability to follow all the techniques that have been taught by the instructor.
Some Compulsory Skills that Divers will Learn During the Open-Water Diving Course
During the training session, divers will learn various basic scuba diving skills such as:
- Breathing underwater
- Regulator clearing
- Regulator recovery
- Mask clearing
- Equalization techniques
- All aspects of physics and physiology: Buoyancy, pressure, air spaces, etc
…and many more!
Here's a tip: During the session, divers need to stay relaxed, calm and not panic while underwater. Repeated dives will build your confidence and make you feel safe, as well as reduce any possible risky situations. Please know that you are welcomed to ask any related questions to our experienced divemaster during the session.
Who can Join this Course?
Indeed, this open-water diving course in Selangor is for those who want to become certified scuba divers. Individuals who are interested to learn what it’s like to breathe underwater are also recommended to join Tryout Scuba before proceed to become a diver!
However, please do note that there are a few course prerequisites to follow before joining:
- Minimum age of 10 years old (with parent’s consent) and above.
- Physically fit with good health.
- Possess basic swimming skills.
